Tagbungan resort is a private resort with two man-made swimming pool situated beside Lantuyan river, on the foothill of famous Mt. Halcon in the town of Baco, the third Municipality from Puerto Galera and about 1.5 hours drive. The series of swimming pool has a man – made mini falls where you can stand under and feel the freshness and coldness of the falling water wrapping in your body while taking “selfie” or “groupie” with your family and friends.

Adjacent to the famous Lantuyan hanging bridge, the boulders (rocks) formations here are quite interesting that spread out the entire riverbed. The traces of these huge boulders indicate the powerful  flood flow during stormy weather. Rock formation can be small and can reach up to 5 to 8 feet tall that’s been washed down from the mountain. This secluded place is surrounded by natural vegetation with century old trees, coconut trees and a perfectly formed summit.

Another exciting activity you can experience is the water slide, which is gradually bend and inclined towards the swimming pool that serves as a catching basin. The slide is about 40m+ in length with enough width to fit you in to enjoy the ride and it has running water  that pushes you down. To test your swimming ability, you can try swimming against the current where the water from the slide falls.

There are Cabanas you can rent and public toilet you can use. If you are karaoke lover, you can rent the bigger Cabanas that include a set of videoke machine. Grills and Barbecue area are also available if you want to make your favorite kebabs or grilled fish.

There are nearby stores that sells basic needs, groceries and Mangyan products like native plates and wall decorations for you to take home as souvenir.

paved road that brings you to Tagbungan

If you are coming from Puerto Galera, you can take the main road to Calapan City and turn right at KM 12 passing the town of Baco. From the Town of Baco, approximately 1.6Km before reaching the intersection after Baco National High School.  There are no landmarks that will tell you where the exact turn is. The best idea is to ask people. The interior road are newly paved with approximate distance 7km from the main road.  Dulangan I, Dulangan II, and Dulangan III or San Ignacio are the small villages you will pass before reaching Tagbungan Resort

Baco

If you are coming from Calapan City, there are two option; 1st, you can go to the grand terminal, by the public market and look for  van or jeepney that bound for Puerto Galera.Your 2nd option, get off at  Km 5 if you are coming from the South of Mindoro. This will lessen your time going to the grand terminal and avoiding hassle due to traffic. At Km 5, there are vans and jeepneys bound for Puerto Galera usually arrives every 30min where you can jump in and give you a ride for about 20mins. Ask the driver to drop you off at Km 12 or tell them you want to go to Tagbungan. From here, you can take either a Motorcycle taxi (habal-habal) or a tricycle.

Tagbungan is a real city – escape hidden paradise with an ambient of real province far from the noisy and polluted city.
